Even though internet has become a popular medium of entertainment, but still for many people television and movies form the main source of entertainment. The entertainment options available these days are very wide and these have increased over a period of time. Due to the rise many new television shows and movies have been produced and many have been successful as well. Targeting specific audience, these offer different themes.

Produced by ABC studios and created by Andrew.W. Marlowe, Castle is a very popular American television series whose genre is mystery, comedy and drama, Castle premiered in July 2009 and was broadcast on ABC and the series revolves around two people who during the course of crime mysteries have to deal with the mysteries of their own relationship as well.

The castle has Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion in the lead roles along with Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever, Molly.C.Quinn, Susan Sullivan and Tamala Jones in key roles. There have been various writers for the show which includes Alexi Hawley, Will Beall, Andrew.W.Marlowe amongst others and directors of the series include Bryan Spicer, Rob Bowman, John Terlesky and Thomas.J.Wright. The show has had a total of 3 seasons in which there have been a total of 56 episodes. Throughout all the seasons the major cast of the Castle has largely remained unchanged.  Read more...

Neil Gaiman is one of the most popular writers of the past nearly thirty years. His popularity has been considered almost like that of a literary rockstar due to the sober treatment of his characters in predominantly fantasy based situations. His wit and senses of humor and horror have made some consider him to be the Tolkien of this generation, and with good reason. His novel American Gods is perhaps the best example of his style, which blends fantasy and realism in a marvelous way.

American Gods is a novel about an inmate named Shadow (no other name is offered but Shadow) who is released from prison early when his wife is killed in a car accident while having an affair with his best friend, who was going to give him a job when he got released. While on the plane to her funeral, he encounters a man known only as Wednesday, who seems to know just about everything to do with Shadow. Wednesday offers Shadow a job as a bodyguard, but it is soon evident that strange things are afoot when it is revealed that Wednesday is actually Odin, the father god from Norse mythology. It is then that Shadow is introduced to many different gods from all different cultures, and is forced into the middle of a war between the old gods and the newer gods of technology, greed, drugs, and other modern conventions.  Read more...

Across the United States on February 26th, 2010, Bruce Willis’ new hit movie Cop Out hit the big screens. Bruce Willis working along with director Kevin Smith and other big actors such as Sean William Scott and Tracy Morgan work together to create a hilarious comedy written by Robb and Mark Cullen.

The opening acts of the movie being with a character named Jimmy Monroe, who is played by Bruce Willis. Jimmy is a veteran officer of the New York Police Department and was a victim of theft. The stolen item was an exceptional baseball card, and Jimmy intended to use it to acquire the money necessary for his daughter Ava’s wedding. At this point, his only choice is to locate the thief. Jimmy determines he needs help with this, so he teams with his police partner Paul Hodges, who is played by Tracy Morgan. With time, these two realize they are looking for a memorabilia-obsessed individual.

Another issue Jimmy is faced with is his ex-wife’s new husband – played by Jason Lee – offers to pay for the wedding in full. Having refused his charity the wedding day inch’s closer and closer as he tries to find the thief in time to save the day.  Read more...

A horror work of fiction laced with suspense not to mention seduction, Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ is in fact the original classic vampire storyline. It typically starts with one of the characters departing England together with his fianc, Mina, to voyage to Transylvania to conduct business together with Count Dracula.

Their trek is much less than pleasant and when he eventually is introduced to the Count at his castle, things proceed from bad to a whole lot worse. Harker ends up a hostage at Castle Dracula, even as – back home in England, Mina’s best girl friend, Lucy, is actually oddly losing blood every night and also increasingly becoming particularly unwell. What’s further – a patient in a local psychological establishment is acting extremely oddly.

We subsequently meet Van Helsing, a vampire hunter, who understands exactly what is occurring with Harker in Transylvania and the pursuit is on to prevent Dracula from traveling to England and to save Jonathan and also Lucy.

On the surface, ‘Dracula’ is a horror story that includes most of the trimmings. We encounter Dracula crawling down the wall of the castle, the terrifying happenings which result in Lucy having a stake pushed through her core, the horrendous explanation of Dracula sleeping in his coffin in the course of the day and exactly how he causes Mina to consume his blood through a wound within his chest.  Read more...

The Incredibles movie was one of the most incredible animation movies I’ve ever seen. It just amazes me how Pixar can keep churning one good animation movie after another and it always never fails to surprise its audience. Pixar also always is a step ahead of the rest of the production houses in terms of the quality of animation, which almost looks real. The movie is a complete power house with the drama of daily life, superhero action and a lot of humor.

The movie gets off to an action packed start with Mr. Incredible coming to the rescue of the city. He’s successful in his rescue mission but it comes at a very high price in terms of the damages caused to the city’s infrastructure. To add to his woes, it turns out that the person he rescues didn’t want to be rescued and promptly sues Mr. Incredible. The city officials too decide to ban him from executing his superhero duties on account of the damages incurred.  Read more...

One of the recent series that was based on the genre of situation comedy to have made it to the successful shows is the Accidentally on Purpose TV Show. This is an American TV series that had its first episode seasoned in the year 2009. CBS is the channel that hosts the show and is one of the popular TV series.

The story actually was borrowed from a book written by Mary F. Pols and the entire play is based on the book. Pamela Fryman is the director of this comedy television series and the show managed to run for 18 odd episodes in the very first season. Actually the series was planned to have just 13 episodes but at the end of the year in the November, CBS wanted for five more episodes of the show and that is how it happened.

The main storyline is about a 30 year old Billie casted by Jenna Elfman. The story basically takes place at San Francisco where she is a movie critic. One day when Zack a chef which is done by Jon foster meets Billie they get hooked up for a one night stand. This results in Billie getting pregnant.  Read more...

Based on the popular books series called the Vampire Diaries by author L. J. Smith the series that is aired on television with the same name as the book has been developed by Kevin Williamson. The series’ first season was aired on the CW Television Network on the 10th of September, 2009 and because of the grand success and popularity it gained during the first season the production company planned to launch the second season which began on February, 2010.

This series is targeted at the teenage viewers, it tells the stories of a girl who was torn between two brothers love. This extraordinary part that would be why this has gotten so popular over their very first season would be that the two brothers that love the girl are vampires.

Actress Nina Dobrev, who is a teenager in real life, plays the lead role of Elena Gilbert. The brothers, named Damon and Stefan Salvatore, are played by Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley respectively. Another essential character of this intriguing series is Katherine Pierce. Katherine also once loved the brothers, centuries ago in 1864. She is played by Nina Dobrev as well.  Read more...

Trauma is a television series that depicts a troupe of paramedics within San Francisco, California. This drama first aired on the network of NBC on September 28, 2009. Since that time, eleven episodes have unfolded, and the grand finale is scheduled for May 10, 2010. That will be the series’ twentieth episode.

Derek Luke stars in one of the leading roles of Trauma. His paramedic character is Cameron Boone. In the series, Cameron is married with two children and frequently works with his co-paramedic Tyler Briggs. Both men enjoy the unique work relationship they share, although they are prone to argue over frivolous matters. Cameron faces a substantial personal dilemma, however; he is unable to discuss with his wife those horrors he witnesses in his day-to-day work. This leads him to indulge in extra-marital affairs so he does have an outlet of sorts. Sela, his on-air wife, has caught him in said affairs.

Another very important character would be Tyler Briggs who was played by Kevin Ranken. Tyler had recently survived the nasty helicopter wreck that had killed Terry Banner a fellow EMT. This loss had left Tyler wounded about life and everything else and he is now is trying to come out.  Read more...

The Three Rivers TV show had a one year long stint on the CBS network where it aired every Sunday for an hour. The series was set in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and was a fictionalized hospital drama series. The lead character in the series of the character of a famous surgeon named Dr. Andy Yablonski is played by actor Alex O’Loughlin.

In January, 2010, after Three Rivers had aired for a year, representatives of CBS declared unexpectedly that the show would not return for a second season. This followed a bout of silence regarding the show during which no news of it was provided.

This TV show what had been moderately popular among people that had told their stories of the organ donors along with the lives of many hospital employers who would deal with life and death for their patients every day. This show has tons of very emotionally and touching moments that would be dealing with the patients that would need the organ transplants along with the circumstances where the people would be donating their organs.

Dr. Andy Yablonski led the team of medical personnel at the hospital. This included doctors and nurses who worked with organ-transplant patients. Dr. Yablonski was portrayed as both witty and patient.  Read more...

MTV Films and DreamWorks joined hands to release Blades of Glory in the year 2007. It was written by Jeff Cox, Craig Cox and Busy Philips and produced by Ben stiller, Stuart cornfield and john Jacobs. And the acknowledgement of directing Blades of glory goes to Will Speck and josh Gordon. This comedy movie was released on DVD and HD DVD.

The movie begins with the tie between two ice skaters for the gold medal at the world winter sports games. Chazz Michael Michaels done by Will Ferrell and Jimmy McElroy done by Jon Heder play the rival skaters. The character of Michael is an expert skater though has a sex addiction and McElroy is kind of effeminate. The duo end up in a fight by arguing and hence are banned and disqualified from the game. This event causes McElroy’s father disinheriting him and he is thrown into the streets.

The movie continues after few years showing Jimmy working in a winter sports store and he gets moved down to stock sorter for tying a kids skate boot laces tight. Chazz who works at a children’s skate show gets fired for getting drunk on work and he has put on lots of weight.  Read more...
